M-300 & BRC-250 Dovetail Plates Two Losmandy compatible "D" dovetails for the Takahashi M-300, BRC-250, and other OTAs using rings with mounting holes 125mm x 180mm apart. M-300 plate Two plates are available. The one pictured above is for the Takahashi Mewlon 300 and provides the sturdiest Losmandy compatible dovetail you will find for that mount. It is clear of the connector for the electric focuser. The BRC-250 plate is similar, but extended 5" at one end for better balancing heavy cameras. Either plate can be used on the BRC-250, but the longer plate allows more travel for balancing in DEC. Either plate can be used on the M-300, but the longer plate will block the focuser port unless it is turned with the extra length towards the front. Thess dovetail plates bolts onto the rings of the M300 or BRC-250 and provide a "D" dovetail that fits my NJP, & EM400/EM500 saddles, my Dove8 saddle for Astro-Physics and G-11, the Astro-Physics DOVELM, the Losmandy G-11, Titan, and other mounts that accept Losmandy "D" dovetails. The plate weighs 4 lbs. 9 oz. (about 2 kilos). It is 8.75" x about 6.5" overall. The hole spacing is 180mm x 125mm center-to-center. So, it is designed for rings with holes 125mm apart using M10 screws.

Robin, The new plate fits perfectly and really looks great. The build quality is at the same high standards I've experienced with your other dovetail saddles and counter weights- thoughtfully designed, well crafted and finely finished. Until now, Mewlon 300 owners had only two mount options for their OTA: a heavy, two piece dovetail system that added about ten to fifteen extra pounds to the scope's already considerable weight or the use of a large Tak accessory plate that required tools, added several minutes to your setup or break-down routine and always introduced the risk of banging on the finish of the scope or the mount . Your Mewlon 300 dovetail avoids both of these problems; the machined cavities significantly reduce the plate's overall weight without reducing its strength and the integrated dovetail provides a secure hold that can be quickly engaged or disengaged from the saddle without the use of tools.
